Unknown Gunmen Attack Ezza-North LGA In Ebonyi State, Destroy Properties, Corpers Safe.(PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

Several unidentified gunmen attacked the Ezza-North Local Government Council, located in Ebiaji-Umuoghara community, Ebonyi State in the early morning of Monday, October 10th 2022.

The gunmen attacked the armed mobile police officers securing the local government council and destroyed several properties, buildings and even set ablaze the local government chairman’s office. According to claims by some of the police officers, the gunmen planned to steal their ammunitions.

Also residing in the local government council are serving members of the National Youth Service Corps, who were posted to Ezza-North Local Government Council. The NYSC members (identities kept anonymous) reported that the incident started around 1am on Monday morning with sporadic and rapid gun shootings from the attackers.

The Police officers also disclosed that two of the gunmen were shot at and were badly injured, however they were able to escape and came back reinforced with more troops. The attackers set ablaze their lodge while the officers ran for safety. However, none of the officers were hurt.

With investigations ongoing the Commissioner of Police (CP) for Ebonyi, Mr Aliyu Garba visited the scene and appreciated the courage of the officers in wading off the attackers.
