‘I don’t think rap or hip-hop will ever die’ – Nasty C

South African rapper, Nasty C, has shared his perspective on the status of hip-hop in mainstream music, countering Wizkid’s recent claim that “hip-hop is dead.”

In an interview with Glich Africa, the ‘Coolest Kid In Africa’ artist expressed confidence that hip-hop will endure, emphasizing its significance as more than just music—it’s a way of life and a culture.

Nasty C stated, “I don’t think rap or hip-hop will ever die, man. It’s more than just music. It’s more than just a sound. It’s a way of life; it’s a culture. It might take the backseat, you know what I mean. Fresh sounds are very important to keep the culture alive. You know what I mean? As Africans, we are very diverse, man. We’ve all these different sounds that we need to take out to the world so that they understand that we are super talented. So, hip-hop will take the backseat for a little bit but it will never die. Trust me.”
