Diogo Jota Named Premier League Player of the Month for January 2024

Liverpool’s midfielder, Diogo Jota, has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for January 2024 in recognition of his outstanding performances for the Reds during the month.

Jota, a Portuguese international, played a crucial role in Liverpool’s success, contributing three goals and two assists in just three appearances. His impactful performances inspired the team to secure three victories in January. Jota provided an assist off the bench in a 4-2 win against Newcastle United on New Year’s Day and went on to score a brace while setting up another goal in a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth.

The midfielder continued his impressive form by scoring in a 4-1 triumph against Chelsea, marking his fifth goal involvement of the month. Jota’s goal contributions played a significant role in keeping Liverpool at the top of the league table, ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Diogo Jota emerged as the winner from a six-man shortlist that included Elijah Adebayo, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Magalhaes, Richarlison, and teammate Conor Bradley. This accolade follows Mohamed Salah’s Player of the Month award for Liverpool in October 2023.
