“Stammerers and people with bad teeth can no longer apply for immigration job” – FG

The federal government of Nigeria has issued a new rule prohibiting stammerers and people with bad teeth from applying for immigration job.

According to the circular signed by the secretary civil defense and corrections board, Al-Hassan Yakmut, Nigerians who stammer and/or have bad teeth will no longer be recruited in the Nigerian immigration.

The document read, “Applicants with any of the following physical challenges need not apply: Impediment in speech (stammer/dumb), gross malformation of teeth, knocked knees, bent knees, bow leg, k-legs, flat foot, limb legs, bent arms/deformed hands/fracture, defective eyesight (squint eye, crossed eye, one-eyed and total blindness).”

“Amputation of any part of physical body, hearing impaired (deaf), hunched back, medical challenges, any physical deformity not mentioned. Note that due to the rigour of the physical exercise in the recruitment process, women with pregnancy need not apply.”

On seeing this news on twitter, many Nigerians have reacted to the recent order condemning the Federal government for discriminating.
