Manchester United May Lift The Purchase Option On Ighalo’s Loan Deal

Odio Ighalo became the first Nigerian to have played for Manchester United first team after completing a January loan deal from Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window.

Ighalo has scored four goals in his eight appearance for the Red Devils (Manchester United) since making his debut. According to reports from the Punch, Manchester United are ready to lift the purchase option in Ighalo’s loan contract as the striker has shown great commitment, enthusiasm, good work rate and strength since his first appearance.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Mancunian executives are ready to exercise the buy option in the summer after the expiration of his loan deal at the club. Manchester United have also been linked to Tottenham Hostspur’s Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund’s Striker Jordon Sancho as the represent one of the high profile names currently playing the game.

However, Ighalo has confirmed that he has not yet made any decision about his future. In an interview with Elegbete TV, Ighalo said there is no offer on the table yet from the Red Devils as the season is not yet over. “Because the season is still on and I’m yet to finish my loan deal. I don’t just take decisions alone in my life. I have a principle and I have a guideline for everything I do. I always pray to God to direct me.“I have seen so many tweets about this. I have seen so many people going crazy, [saying] ‘go back to China’, some say ‘stay with Man United’.“Have you seen me say a word? I don’t have anything to say. When the season’s finished and I get two offers from the two teams, then I will sit and think about it, pray about it and whatever God says I should do, I will go with that” Ighalo said.
