Nigeria Mourns The Death of A Legend, As Former Minister of Justice And Attorney-General Dies At 88!

The former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Abimbola Osuolale Richard Akinjide is dead.In a time when the country faces a global pandemic, the death of an Icon, Father, Mentor and a Visionary comes as a great loss to the Nation and family of the deceased.

It was reported that Abimbola, 88-year-old died in Ibadan, Oyo State, home as said by a close member of the family. Abimbola was a Minister for Education in the First Republic and also a Minister for Justice in the second republic under President Shehu Shagari.

Abimbola who traveled to the United Kingdom for his higher education was called to the English Bar in 1955 and also, established his law firm, Akinjide and Co soon after he was called to bar. Abimbola was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Late Abimbola also serves as a chieftain in the Olubadan of Ibandan’s court.May His Soul Rest In Peace!!
