Remembrance Day: Late President Yar’Adua Remembered By His Son And Other Nigerians!!

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was the 13th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and was the governor of Katsina State in Northern Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 28 May 2007. Yar’Adua was declared winner of the presidential election that was held on 21 April 2007 and was sworn in on 29 May 2007.

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua is referred by most Nigerians as the golden president of his era but was unable to live up after he died on 5 May 2010 and was buried 6 May 2010. Yar’Adua was one of the few Nigerian President not to have completed his first term due to illness that eventually led to his death and that made his vice, Goodluck Johnathan to take over proceedings.

Today made it a decade and one of the sons of Yar’Adua has took to his Twitter account to remember his father as he urged Nigerians to do the same.

He wrote: “A prayer for my late father we miss you: Rabbana-ghfir lana dhunuubana wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna ‘alal qawmil kafireen.

Our Lord! Not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire [3:191]”

Yar’Adua can be seen by most Nigerians as a man who wanted the best for Nigeria and the interest of Nigerians at heart. May his soul continue to Rest in Peace.
