Heartbreak As Chelsea Legend Drogba Separates With Wife Of 20 Years

Chelsea and Former Ivorian international legend Didier Drogba has finally announced his separation with his wife Lalla Diakite.

Drogba and Diakite married on June 12, 2011 in Monaco and the pair have been living together for over 20 years before his official announcement on his social media page. Drogba who likes to keep his family life private, said he had to make the announcement on his social media page due to false statements from the media.

The two-time African Player of the Year Award recipient didn’t give full details of their separation, as he said it was a difficult decision as he still remains to keep what went wrong out of the media to protect their three children (Isaac, Iman and Kieran).

“I am not used to discussing my private life, but due to speculation in the media today, I will confirm that unfortunately after 20 years together Lalla and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways.” Drogba wrote.

Just recently, Drogba was given a chiefitainncy title as the Nanan Kadio Morokro III of his village, Niable.
