Barcelona football club manager, Xavi Hernández has denied multiple claims that Argentine forward, Sergio Aguero might be forced to retire from football following his current health condition.
A recently diagnosed heart problem, which came after the Argentinian had to be substituted in Barcelona’s match against Alaves, had apparently led to the player calling time on his career, according to a tweet from reliable reporter, Gerard Romero.
However, it now seems the reports are untrue as Spanish media outlet, AS reports that new coach, Xavi Hernandez, has dismissed the story as nothing more than rumours.
“What’s come out isn’t true, I spoke with him, he’s calm and happy. I asked him to come back when he was feeling okay.” He was quoted as saying to reporters after the game against Espanyol.
Xavi, who oversaw a 1-0 win over Espanyol in his first match in charge, insisted it was not true that Agüero’s retirement was confirmed.
