Here are ways to Get Capital to Fund Your Music Career as An Independent Artist in Nigeria.

MUSIC DISTRIBUTORS.

As an artist, if you don’t have enough money to give your forthcoming music project (which could be an album or EP) a proper promotion, you can get funding from a music distributor. A music distributor might step in with an advance against future earnings on the project. A distributors assistance can come in the form of a loan, that would make them an investor in the project giving them a more substantial cut of the album’s profits or having a contract as your distributor for a set period of time. LENDERS.

Money lenders are another source of funding for your music career. A lender is a person that gives capital for temporary use on condition that the same or its equivalent be returned back. A lender is different from an investor in that he/she might not get a Return-on-Investment (ROI) on the money they lend. A lender can be your family member or friend in most cases.

FINANCIAL DONORS

This might be funny, but most music artists (especially here in Nigeria) that say they’re looking for people to invest in their music career aren’t actually looking for investors, they’re looking for donors to give them money. And, sincerely most times this is because an artist can’t guarantee a return on that person’s investment. Therefore, a financial donor is a person who donates money to a business or fund without expecting a financial return.
